Building scale models is an activity that goes back thousands of years. Ancient Egyptian and Chinese cultures built scale models of projects much the same way engineers and architects still do today. Scale modeling is a great way to learn history, study engineering, appreciate design, and develop construction skills.

In 1986, the USAF established the ADF (Air Defence Fighter) program in the course of which more than 270 F-16A/B Block 15 aircraft were upgraded to Block OCU aircraft and modified for the ANG departments.
