Fundemonium owners Steven and Jean Elliott announce they are moving their hobby, game, and toy store to 579 Rohnert Park Expressway and the new store will more than double the size of the current location.
For 10 years Steven and Jean have operated their hobby, game, and toy store in Petaluma. Along with being Sonoma County's most comprehensive hobby, game, and toy source, a unique feature of their business has been a commitment to community support and in-store activity. “People thought I was crazy when I proposed setting aside 700 square feet of a 6,500 square foot store for general activities,” said Steven, “but it has made all the difference.” Instead of being just a place where you buy things and leave, Fundemonium invites you to stay and participate in activites like club meetings, game tournaments, and building days. Fundemonium also offers free use of their activity space, called the Wonderground, to community groups like 4-H, Cub Scouts, and hobby clubs to hold meetings and classes.
Moving to Rohnert Park will allow Fundemonium to expand to 14,000 square feet and most of the new space will be dedicated to Wonderground activities. “Before we could only host one event at a time, we would have to turn away a birthday party because of a game tournament, or cancel game play to host a club meeting. Now we will be able to host multiple events simultaneously,” said Jean.
The new Fundemonium will have new features like:
- Private Party Rooms
- Snack Bar
- LEGO and Playmobile tables
- Slot Car Racing
- Train Play
- Game Tables and Game Library
- Radio Control area 50' x 30' to host indoor racing and flying.
- Plus Art, Games, Toys, Models, Trains, and Radio Control supplies for the whole family!
Steven Elliott said in summary, “Even though we are taking a huge risk by moving and expanding the store, I believe this will be worthwhile. Our new location and size will allow us to serve many more people in Sonoma County and become a true destination spot.”
